13:15 - Teachers as Advocates! Marlow and Ashlee talk with 3rd Grade Teacher - Amy Sparks about the Jarred Bryan Sparks Foundation, which she created in memory of her beloved son.
22:30 - Healthy Lunch Choices for Teachers! Marlow and Cassandra are joined by Diane Wilson (6th Grade Teacher/Health Enthusiast) who shares healthy tidbits.
30:25 - Tar Heel Teachers on the Town! Dia takes Marlow bowling in an effort to find balance and relaxation!

Marlow Artis: Creator, Moderator, & Executive Producer

Marlow Artis is the Creator/Chief Content Purveyor/Blogger for Tar Heel Teachers and its spin-off talk show. In addition to moderating and executive producing these media platforms, he happily served for 5 years as a 6th Grade English/Language Arts Teacher. He is a member of the NC Governor’s Teacher Network, and placed as the First Runner-Up in the Cumberland County Schools Teacher of the Year Competition after being named the Teacher of the Year for South View Middle and the South View Attendance Area. He is a proud graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill who recently joined Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools as the Academic Support Specialist for Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate!

Ashlee Garrison: Elementary School Co-Host

Ashlee Garrison is the elementary representative for Tar Heel Teachers. She has a Reading Specialist K-12 certification and is currently a 5th grade English Language Arts teacher. Serving as membership chairperson, she is an active member in the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators and is also an active volunteer for the Jarred Bryan Sparks Foundation for Autism. She is a Science Olympiad coach and also serves on the Political Action Committee for the Cumberland County Association for Educators. She was selected as the PTA Teacher of the Year at her school in 2013. She received her Bachelor's Degree from UNC-Wilmington in 2008, and her Master's Degree from UNC-Pembroke in 2013.
